Hi, I’m Nicole.
The heart behind Sustain:
My heart is to cultivate a gentle and authentic place for women to come as they are, exhale, and connect honestly with God—without pressure to posture or perform.
I take a lot of inspiration from the Psalms, which combine a deep honesty with a heart ever oriented toward the Lord.
Through grace-filled, Scripture-rooted reflections, prayers, and poetry, Sustain is a space for turning (and returning) our hearts toward the only One who can truly refresh and sustain us.
I pray these devotionals bring you moments of real encouragement, clarity, and peace that help buoy you up as you continue on the journey of faith.
About me:
I grew up in the church, but I spent my young adulthood outside the faith.
By the time I came to know Jesus as an adult, I had found the wisdom of the world deeply underwhelming, and my soul was hungry for real life, meaning, and joy. When I found those things in Him, I clung to Him. In the years since, through both joys and trials, that intimacy with Him has only deepened.
Because I remember what it was like to live apart from that nearness, my heart is to help other women stay rooted in the One who loves us best and gives life, beauty, and meaning to every part of our lives.
A few fun facts:
I am a wife of seventeen years and mom of two beautiful daughters, plus one furry bichon poodle named Daisy.
I love coffee dates, deep conversations with friends, good books, and anything reminiscent of the sea.
My love for writing started early. I still remember composing my first poem in church when I was around eight years old.
